Created in 1993 in context of a growing necessity in the agricultural sector for new, effective and environment friendly production means.
The R&D&I Department is created to enter the biocontrol industry with biopesticides based on microorganism Biological Control Agents (BCAs) and biological extracts.
In 2003 Futureco Bioscience joins the IOBC (International Organization for Biological Control) and since 2004 becomes an active member of the IBMA (International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association).
In 2005, Futureco Bioscience efforts in internationalization and research are recognized with the Research Award of the Fundación Universidad-Empresa (Foundation University-Enterprise) (REDFUE) and the Prize for Internationalization of the Catalan Economy, which is awarded by the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya).
Starting in 2006, Futureco Bioscience implements distribution through its own subsidiaries called BIOGROW (BG) such as BG MAROC or through joint ventures and participating companies such as BG CORPORATION, composed of different BG's as BG Brazil, BG Peru or BG Australia.
After an evaluation process of eight years, the strain FE9901 of Isaria fumosoroseus, an active ingredient of the bioinsecticide NOFLY WP developed by Futureco Bioscience, was finally authorized by the European Union as an active insecticide (OJ L113 of 25.4.2013 p.5). This represents a historical moment in the Spanish agro-biotechnology field due to being the first in Spain developed phytosanitary product based on a microbial pathogen of a by the EU recognized insect pest.
Futureco Bioscience receives the Spanish National Award for its Innovative Product NOFLY, as part of the Environmental Awards granted to European Companies by the Fundación Biodiversidad.
Futureco Bioscience signs the United Nations Global Compact and builds on it to develop its Corporate Social Responsibility, both within the Spanish Network and within the International Global Compact Network.

Sumi Agro Europe specialises in the development and distribution of technically advanced products for agriculture, including plant protection products, fertilisers and seeds. The wide portfolio and flexible supply options from Futureco Bioscience provide an opportunity to strengthen SAE's position through its line of bio-stimulants and biocontrol products, within the portfolio brand “Seipro”. With Seipro, Sumi Agro Europe offers a new and innovative product portfolio in order to meet the increasing demand for biological products in modern farming.
Sumi Agro Europe’s headquarters are in London, managing a network of companies and branch offices based in France, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and Turkey. SAE began marketing of plant protection products in Europe more than 25 years ago, and today has a direct distribution presence in more than 16 countries through its subsidiary and affiliate companies.
