In house philosophy for excellence
Our business approach places a distinctive emphasis on internal management and execution of operations, as opposed to outsourcing or relying on third parties. We believe that maintaining direct control over the entire process brings numerous advantages that shape the excellence of our business. By completely managing the process in-house, we can ensure that everything is done with the highest quality, adapt quickly to changes, and at the same time keep costs low and risks under control. In addition, this allows us to invest in developing our own skills and retaining talent in our organization, which is essential to achieving long-term excellence. This philosophy not only sets us apart, but also enables us to o er world-class products adapted to the changing needs of the market and supported by a talented and highly skilled team. In short, “doing it in-house” is one of our secrets to success.
Certified quality
At Futureco Bioscience, certifications play a key role in our commitment to quality and excellence in all our operations. Futureco Bioscience complies with several standards established by the International Standardization Organization (ISO): ISO 9001, which establishes solid quality foundations ensuring compliance with demanding international standards; ISO 14001, which reflects our commitment to the environment; and finally, ISO 45001, which focuses on occupational health and safety, ensuring safe conditions for our staff. In addition, our biochemistry laboratory complies with ISO 17025, guaranteeing the accuracy of our tests and calibrations.
Chemical analysis laboratory accredited ISO 17025
The ENAC accreditation under ISO 17025 of the chemical analysis laboratory reaffirms our commitment to high quality, together with continuous innovation, and provides assurance of the accuracy and precision of the laboratory’s biochemical analysis protocols, guaranteeing the quality of the products.
This accreditation determines that the laboratory exceeds a series of technical requirements when conducting the tests and calibrations it performs on a daily basis, supporting the technical competence of Futureco Bioscience and the reliability of the results obtained. Receiving this accreditation assures the high value of the company and its products, giving them an additional seal of quality and honouring the trust of all its customers. In addition, Futureco Bioscience obtains with this recognition the ability to provide autonomously the certificates of analysis of its products, without the need to resort to external entities, both nationally and internationally according to the Multilateral Recognition Agreements (MLA) that ENAC has signed within the international organisations EA (European Cooperation for Accreditation) and ILAC (International Laboratories Accreditation Cooperation), facilitating the tasks of exporting products in international markets.
Digitalization of processes
Just as process digitization is transforming agriculture in the field, it is also redefining the efficiency and manufacturing quality of agricultural products. At Futureco Bioscience, we digitize as many processes as possible to ensure operational efficiency, task automation, quality consistency and informed strategic decision-making. As a result, we optimize business operations and improve customer experience.
The UN Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative: it supports and monitors companies to incorporate 10 universal principles related to human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption into their strategies and operations, as well as to act in ways that advance social goals and the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Futureco Bioscience is one of thousands of responsible companies of all sizes and sectors around the world committed to integrating sustainability into their core strategies and operations for the benefit of both society and themselves.
Futureco Bioscience is firmly committed to the values of quality, innovation and environmental responsibility that we transmit, internally and externally, with the vision of creating value from knowledge. Our DNA includes the environment-related principles of the Global Compact, and the SDGs linked to this area, such as 12, 13, 14 and 15. Over the years, these have been translated into action plans with a continuous commitment to excellence and leadership in prevention and safety, compliance with delivery and commitment deadlines, application of sustainability and new technologies, quality requirements, environmental management and social management by supporting initiatives related to our activity that create value for the community.
Environmental Commitment
Futureco Bioscience has as its mission the protection of the environment, and integrates environmental protection in its Quality and Environmental Policy. We work not only to directly impact the agricultural system with our sustainable vision, but also to integrate our environmental perspective into all the company’s policies and lines of work, and to raise awareness among all the stakeholders involved.
The environmental performance management system in all the activities carried out by the company has a double objective: on the one hand, to achieve the minimum possible impact in our activities, in coherence with the vision we advocate and, on the other hand, to serve as an example for other companies in the sector and for the public in general.
Through this environmental management system we are committed to:
- Limit as much as possible the environmental resources we use – materials, water and energy – in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
- Prioritise consumption of products, suppliers and services that have a lower impact on the environment.
- Manage waste correctly and, above all, prevent waste generation.
We will establish annual improvement plans which we will implement and review, and which will help us to move towards continuous improvement.
An example of our commitment is our adherence to the Carbon Footprint Registration and CO2 Compensation Programme of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the fight against climate change.
According to the report of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge released on 07 July 2021, we emitted 241.95 tonnes of CO2 in the three-year period 2018-2021, 31.8% less than in the three-year period 2017-2020. This represents a saving of around 40 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to the emissions generated by 450 trips Barcelona – Madrid with a medium-sized petrol car. Several factors have contributed to the reduction of emissions, which achieves targets 1 (Calculate) and 2 (Reduce) of the same Register, but the most relevant has undoubtedly been working with 100% renewable energy suppliers. Today Futureco Bioscience is largely powered by renewable energy from natural sources, such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass, biogas or geothermal, which fortunately are almost inexhaustible.
New carton packaging
Futureco Bioscience was created almost thirty years ago with the idea of providing environmentally friendly solutions to reduce the impact of agriculture as much as possible. Since then, the company has not only been concerned with offering bio-based products with zero waste, but has also wanted to transfer ecological sustainability to all the management stages of its activity.
Today our commitment to continue to be responsible is to offer our partner network a new environmentally friendly packaging for our entire product portfolio for regenerative agriculture. Practically all agricultural products are marketed in plastic bottles, but it doesn’t have to be that way! Futureco Bioscience’s new environmentally friendly packaging is made from the highest quality cardboard and contains a thin, strong plastic bag containing the product. It is easy to use and handle, and there are different sizes available to suit everyone’s requirements. This change allows customers, at no additional cost, to reduce the amount of plastic (by weight) fed into the system by 90%, in addition to an easier and more efficient waste management.
