Futureco Bioscience sponsors Earth Agribusiness summit 2021 to empower future entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector

Futureco Bioscience will be the Official Sponsor of the Agribusiness Summit 2021 organized by EARTH University. The Agribusiness Summit is a space in which young entrepreneurs, students of EARTH, present their business projects to assess and improve the potential of companies that are not only economically efficient, but also environmentally and socially responsible, linking their ideas with comprehensive solutions to the great problems of the world.

This year will be the seventh edition of the event, which will take place on 20 July in Costa Rica, and will have the participation of 19 companies with a total of 109 young people from various countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa. The students will compete for their ideas, their level of innovation, value for humanity, social contribution, technological ideas for agribusiness and significant contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“One of Futureco Bioscience’s mottos is: we create value from knowledge. There is no better way to put this into practice than by advancing shared knowledge and broadening the scope of our research, strategy and innovation with those who share our vision and values. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to be Official Sponsors of the EARTH Agribusiness Summit, where we will certainly leverage our resources to promote the training of entrepreneurs with ethical values and the formation of companies committed to the environment and regenerative agriculture” – says Rafael Juncosa, CEO of Futureco Bioscience – “having ethical and well-prepared leaders is an indispensable element to ensure food security, greater prosperity and environmental regeneration”, he adds.

Nearly 81% of EARTH students come from rural areas, 49% are women and 81% return after graduation to become agents of change in their home communities. EARTH’s holistic approach prepares young leaders for the sector in all aspects of the sustainable agricultural value chain, as well as emphasising the critical role of entrepreneurship.

Yanine Chan, Dean of EARTH University says: “Transforming the future of these rural communities is essential to our global sustainability. Much of our world’s food supply is currently produced by millions of smallholder farmers in rural regions of the world. Given population growth, and with global food demand growing strongly by 2050, boosting sustainable and regenerative agricultural production in rural areas will be critical to ensuring global food security. Through preparing leaders, we seek to impact the lives of millions of people over the next 10 years.
