Environmental Commitment
Futureco Bioscience has as its mission the protection of the environment, and integrates environmental protection in its Quality and Environmental Policy. We work not only to directly impact the agricultural system with our sustainable vision, but also to integrate our environmental perspective into all the company’s policies and lines of work, and to raise awareness among all the stakeholders involved.
The environmental performance management system in all the activities carried out by the company has a double objective: on the one hand, to achieve the minimum possible impact in our activities, in coherence with the vision we advocate and, on the other hand, to serve as an example for other companies in the sector and for the public in general.
Through this environmental management system we are committed to:
- Limit as much as possible the environmental resources we use – materials, water and energy – in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
- Prioritise consumption of products, suppliers and services that have a lower impact on the environment.
- Manage waste correctly and, above all, prevent waste generation.
We will establish annual improvement plans which we will implement and review, and which will help us to move towards continuous improvement.
An example of our commitment is our adherence to the Carbon Footprint Registration and CO2 Compensation Programme of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the fight against climate change.
According to the report of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge released on 07 July 2021, we emitted 241.95 tonnes of CO2 in the three-year period 2018-2021, 31.8% less than in the three-year period 2017-2020. This represents a saving of around 40 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to the emissions generated by 450 trips Barcelona – Madrid with a medium-sized petrol car. Several factors have contributed to the reduction of emissions, which achieves targets 1 (Calculate) and 2 (Reduce) of the same Register, but the most relevant has undoubtedly been working with 100% renewable energy suppliers. Today Futureco Bioscience is largely powered by renewable energy from natural sources, such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass, biogas or geothermal, which fortunately are almost inexhaustible.
We are excited to share our journey with you and provide insights into how we continue to drive change in the industry. By visiting us, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the science and passion that fuel our commitment to improving crop health and productivity for farmers worldwide.
We’re offering a rare opportunity to visit our headquarters and R&D facilities, and engage directly with the team behind the science.
