Futureco Bioscience is committed to develop policies and activities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by supporting the United Nations Global Compact and join to the Global and Spanish networks, which include companies that exhibit and demonstrate a real interest in social, economic and environmental sustainable development.
Support to the Global Compact involves developing CSR policies and activities as to make them public with a Communication on Progress (COP) or Sustainability Report, a public disclosure of CSR measures envisaged for stakeholders of the company.
Stakeholders are individuals and entities that interact directly or indirectly in the organization, such as customers, suppliers, employees, companies in the market, civil society and governments, taking into account its influence, closeness, dependence and representation.
The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative undertaken by the UN for companies that are committed to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
In the area of human rights, member companies must comply with the first two principles: support and respect the protection of fundamental human rights and ensure that in any case they are complicit in their violation.
In the labour are, from the third to the sixth principle, companies should uphold the freedom of association and effective recognition of the right of collective bargaining, eradication of all forms of forced or compulsory labour, elimination of child labour and abolition of any discrimination practice in employment and occupation.
Regarding to the Environment, the seventh, eighth and ninth principles dictate that businesses should support a precautionary approach to it, undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility and encourage the development and dissemination of environmentally friendly technologies. This is the most developed part of Futureco Bioscience, with the implementation of ISO 14001, the development and marketing of environmental friendly products and a line of Responsible Projects focused on environmental awareness and education outreach.
Finally, in the field of anti-corruption and covering the tenth principle, companies adhering to the Global Compact should work against corruption in all forms, including extortion and bribery.
With this step Futureco Bioscience formalizes its commitment to ensure that its economic and administrative activities have a social, economic and environmental responsibility, along with other companies that share an integrated vision of the context in which they operate and the persons and entities that interact with them.
