On Friday May 9, 2014, in the Auditorium of the Casademont Building of the Science Park of Girona, will be held the conference “Biostimulants and Biopesticides for sustainable agriculture" to define and discuss about the state of the art of basic and applied investigation about these products in sustainable agriculture practices.
The event will be opened by Jordi Giné, Head of Plant Protection of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the Catalan Government, and Emili Montesinos, Director of the Centre of Innovation and Development of Vegetal Health of the University of Girona (CIDSAV - INTEA - University of Girona), who will proceed to give a presentation on the concepts, myths and realities of Biostimulants and Biopesticides. Ben Lugtenberg, an emeritus professor in microbiology plant by the Institute of Molecular Plant Sciences, University of Leiden (Netherlands), will also participate with the conference “Beneficial microorganisms" and there will be a panel discussion on regulation and marketing of agrobiologicals, which will involve representatives of several companies, including Carolina Fernández, Director of the R&D Department of Futureco Bioscience. Researcher Esther Badosa will close the event with a presentation and visit to the CIDSAV.
