As part of its policy, FUTURECO BISOCIENCE continuously looks for innovation in its products supply. Since 1999, as consequence of the strict European regulation of agricultural media, the research and development activities of FUTURECO BISOCIENCE has focused on products for plant protection and nutrition based on low environmental risk active substances such as natural extracts, and beneficial microorganisms.

FUTURECO BISOCIENCE has its own biotechnology and microbiology laboratories located in the Campus of the Escuela Superior de Agricultura de Barcelona (ESAB / UPC) (Parque Mediterráneo de la Tecnología, Castelldefels, Barcelona, Spain).

Main Research Lines
Research and development of:

• Biopesticides based on Biological Control Agentsmicroorganisms natural enemies of pests and diseases.
• Botanical products based on plant extracts with insecticide, fungicide and / or bactericide properties.
• Products for plant growth promotion obtained from  on molecular complexes from either natural origin or manufactured through low environmental risk processes.

Outstanding Research Projects

• Research and development of a Biopesticide for the Biological Control of the banana black weevil (Cosmopolites sordidus).
• Research and development of a Biopesticide (FUTURECO NOFLY™) for the biological control of whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum, Bemisia tabaci, Aleroidicus disepersus, Leccanoideus floccissimus).
• Research and development of a microbiological based product for the Biological Control of nematodes.

University-Industry Cooperation
The close cooperation between industry and universities allows quick transference and application of the generated knowledge. Agricultural phenomena such as resistance and / or sudden pests and diseases invasions, require quick actions from authorities and research centres. Often, the only way to materialize these actions is in the form of products offered to agriculturists, a role belonging to companies exclusively. Most of FUTURECO BISOCIENCE developments have been reached in cooperation with Universities and Research Centres from Spain and other European countries.
