Futureco Bioscience

FUTURECO BIOSCIENCE is a Spanish company dedicated to designing, developing, manufacturing and commercializing plant nutrition products and plant protection products from natural origin. FUTURECO is member of international organisations such as IBMA and IOBC which actively work in the promotion of biological control practices and Integrated Pest Management.

Since its foundation in Barcelona in 1993, the company has been committed with the promotion of both, products and practices directed to minimize the damage to environment originated by agriculture, within the context of the new and more restrictive European agriculture legislation (Directive 91/414/EEC and others).

At the beginning, the activity of the company went exclusively towards the production and the commercialization of fertilizer formulated from natural substances, such as amino acids, seaweeds or mineral salts. Two years later, the success of products in the market permitted the creation of branches in Chile (FUTURECO America) and Morocco (FUTURECO Maghreb) which contributed to the agricultural market positioning of the products in strategic zones.

In 1999 FUTURECO BIOSCIENCE initiated its own line of research and development, directed to design Plant Protection Products based on biological control agents. Thanks to the knowledge acquired from work, the company inaugurated its own R+D laboratory within the Mediterranean Park of Technology of the Polytechnical University of Catalonia (Barcelona). In recognition to its continuous cooperation with universities and public investigation centres, FUTURECO BIOSCIENCE obtained the award in 2005 from the Spanish Network University-Company (REDFUE).

That same year, the international character of the company and its export activity were recognized by the Autonomous Government of Catalonia with the Prize to the Internationalization of the Catalan Economy in the SME category. At present, through the joint-venture BIOGROW CORPORATION, FUTURECO BIOSCIENCE exports its products through more than 25 countries.

All the activities and products of FUTURECO BIOSCIENCE are developed under an Integrated Quality Management System (ISO standard 9001) allowing to certify that the whole productive process, from the same raw materials to the consumer service, are fitting the standards required by the clients and the market.
